  1. v2.0

    Two readings of one terrain

Points joins contour lines as a second way to draw the same elevation data, and contour maps pick up the conventions of a printed topo sheet.

    New

    • Points render mode: the terrain as a field of dots, squares or crosses whose density and size follow the height. Same data as the contours, one switch. Learn more →
    • Points controls: density, shape, min/max size, and placement from an ordered halftone grid to a hand-stippled scatter. Learn more →
    • Scale bar, north arrow and legend, drawn in a margin band below the map on PNG and SVG exports. Learn more →
    • Auxiliary contours: dashed half-interval lines on plateaus and terraces the standard interval would leave blank. Learn more →
    • Depression contours: closed rings around a pit are marked with inward-pointing hachures. Learn more →
    • Minimum contour length filter to clear tiny loops left by elevation noise. Learn more →
    • Two Imhof-style hypsometric gradient presets (Pro).
    • Contour lines now break under their elevation labels.
    • Docs and this changelog. Learn more →
    • A guided tour in chapters — Basics, Go further, What's new — and small New tags on the new controls that disappear once you've used them.

    Improved

    • A redesigned website in a flat, square style: animated terrain heroes on the Lines and Points pages, and new layouts for pricing, the city maps and the blog.
    • A new basemap drawn for contour work, in light and dark: forests, meadows, farmland, sand, rock and ice in distinct colours, soft relief shading, quiet grey roads, and peaks, passes, huts, viewpoints, lifts and airports marked with standard map symbols.
    • Points exports keep the density you see in the preview at every size, from the free PNG to PNG High.
    • Scale bar, north arrow and legend are marked Pro in the editor, like every other paid option.
    • The Figma plugin now draws auxiliary contours and depression hachures. Points is not available in the plugin yet.
  2. v1.80 – 1.81

    Steadier under load

    Improved

    • When many maps are traced at once, new requests wait in a short queue with a countdown instead of failing.
    • The default contour colour is white, so a fresh trace reads on the dark basemap.

    Fixed

    • A clear message when an export needs more credits than the account has.
    • More reliable sign-in and elevation downloads on slow networks.
  3. v1.61 – 1.79

September: GIS & CAD exports, better elevation data

The biggest batch of the year, recapped in the September blog post.

    New

    • DXF export for CAD, laser cutting and CNC, and GeoJSON export for GIS with a choice of output coordinate system. Learn more →
    • GEDTM30 bare-earth elevation worldwide, plus national 5–10 m data for France, the United States and Spain on paid exports. Learn more →
    • Upload your own GeoTIFF elevation model (Pro). Learn more →
    • Map info panel: source, coordinate system, scale and area of the current zone.
    • Full recap: What's new — September 2026. Learn more →

    Improved

    • A flatter, sharper editor with a dark basemap by default and a search mode selector.
    • Restyling a zone or coming back to it is close to instant thanks to trace caching.
